The purchase price of the Audi Q8 E-tron is at a premium – but what about the insurance costs? Ingolstadt does not come cheap here, although it is not particularly expensive either.
The 21 categories of liability insurance can be quite expensive. The rating of the Q8 e-tron in partial comprehensive insurance (type 24) is still relatively moderate. Comprehensive insurance includes class 26 insurance and it becomes expensive again.
Audi Q8 E Tron (2023)
Audi offers the updated Q8 E-tron in three different versions. The entry-level model e-tron 50 Advanced quattro has a range with a 95 kWh battery and an average range of 491 kilometers according to the WLTP test procedure.
Just above that is the SQ8 E-tron quattro, which despite its 114 kWh battery capacity can only travel 3 kilometers more. The current model with the longest cruising range is the Q8 e-tron 55. Its battery is the same size as the sports model SQ8, but its cruising range reaches 600 kilometers, much more than the sports model SQ8. ;
Charging time for each model is current. The model with the smallest battery, the Audi Q7 e-tron 50, charges the fastest, recharging to 80% in just 28 minutes at a 150 kW DC charging station. Other options have significantly longer charging times due to battery size. On a 22 kW wall box or charging station it takes 285 minutes, on an 11 kW charging station it takes 555 minutes.
Charging time is correspondingly longer for the two models with 114kW batteries. It takes 31 minutes to charge at a 170 kW DC charging station, 360 minutes at a 22 kW charging station and 690 minutes at an 11 kW charging station. ;

The Audi Q8 e-tron is also eligible for funding in 2023. This means that the manufacturer and the federal government pay a total premium of 4,500 euros when buying an electric SUV. This applies to all models in the range.
In our real tests, we achieved an amazing consumption figure of only 14.1 kW/100 kilometers and a dream cruising range of 751 kilometers using the Audi Q8 E-tron while driving on the highway at a very low speed of 80 km/h.
At a more realistic cruising speed of 130 km/h, the Q8 e-tron’s consumption value jumps to 31.5 kW/100 km, which leaves only 336 kilometers of cruising range.
Similar values would appear if the Audi was used as a towing vehicle for a trailer. When the Audi Q8 e-tron has a load of 1.4 tons and a maximum permissible speed of 80 kilometers per hour with a trailer, it even reaches 36.4 kW / 100 kilometers, with a real cruising range of 291 kilometers.

Audi offers several versions of the Q8 E-tron, varying in performance and body shape. The Stromer is available as an SUV or an SUV coupe (the manufacturer calls it Sportback). Models are available with outputs of 340 hp, 408 hp or 503 hp. This is something to be proud of.
In any case, you already have good mobility with the base model, which has a range of 491 kilometers and is the “cheapest” model at a price of around 74,000 euros. Our choice remains one of moderation. The Audi Q8 e-tron Sportback 55 advance quattro has a range of 600 kilometers and is the highest value purchase from the German manufacturer at the highest price: around 88,000 euros. ;
Audi has improved the hardware and software of the steering system compared to its predecessor. Many customers thought it was not sporty enough. The difference is quite subtle. The Q8 E-tron is big and heavy, and even the best software can’t change that.
Still, the E-tron drives like a much smaller car. The steering is direct and the vehicle is agile, and the Audi delivers a very confident driving experience. Its size only comes into play when cornering, and can sometimes be a bit taxing on narrow roads. ;

The chassis is very pleasantly tuned and the standard air suspension with adaptive dampers shows its strengths here. In comparison, the handling of the Audi SQ8 e-tron feels a little uncomfortable. Three engines work here instead of two, which have been modified.
The top model has a top speed of 210 km/h, and the other models have a top speed of 200 km/h. This trend is evident among other brands as well. So anyone hoping to take a detour on the motorway to slow their car down will be disappointed. The new generation of electric cars is almost as fast as their counterparts with conventional engines.
Acceleration in the Audi Q8 E-tron is stepless and, as is typical for an electric car of this performance, very direct. The top model SQ8 E-tron accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometers in 4.5 seconds. This is almost sports car level. The three electric motors distribute power to the individual wheels as needed, which can be felt in fast corners.
Thanks to the improved aerodynamics of the Audi Q8 e-tron, the cabin of the SUV is now exceptionally quiet. Even at high speeds on the motorway, you hardly hear any external noise. This is also where an SUV should feel most comfortable: as a motorhome on the highway or country roads. ;

To say that the Audi Q8 e-tron has impressive looks is almost an understatement. This electric SUV is a true behemoth in its dimensions. Q8 is 4.91 meters long, 1.93 meters wide and 1.63 meters high. Simply upper class. Although some vehicles in this segment can quickly break the five-meter mark.
